Well this thread has took a different turn. Wish i’d done a search on Kaitlyns past posts now. I don’t even feel particularly venerated, just…bored. I’d also like to ask why everybodys getting right on my case about the few posts i’ve made in this thread and that i’m an arsehole. Does anybody bother to read the significantly more posts I put into CS & IMHO? Guess not. Oh, I don’t have internet access at home either, only at work, which is why I haven’t responded to this so far. ---

Well, Kaitlyn turned out to not be a hot asian chick married to a hot asian chick. That’s a little disappointing. Since I only interacted with K6 a little bit and not in any of the transgender threads, it’s hard to feel betrayed. I’m very curious about can of pineapples though. They had to have a serious something going on to do the research that they done. Who was that masked sock? And if anyone else has any confessions about not being a hot chick, let’s get them out of the way now. 😛 ---

Until this latest twist, you – and most of the rest of us – believed **Kaitlyn** to be a female. As should be known by now considering the many discussions regarding this issue here at the SDMB, it’s almost universally considered appropriate to describe transgendered individuals by the gender they identify with. **Kaitlyn** identified as female, and thus most everyone here referred to her that way. You, on the other hand, used oh-so-cute quotes, which in this context were the written equivalent of rolled eyes accompanying the phrase “she, he, whatever – who can keep up with whatever these crazy trannies are calling themselves these days?” It was dismissive, insulting and snide. And _that_ is what so many here were getting on your case about. Yes, you got rather lucky that everyone is now understandably distracted by this latest revelation, but that doesn’t change the original dumbass behavior that got you piled on in the first place. How sadly predictable and pathetic to claim prescience now as a way of weasling out from under the justly-deserved pile-on. ---

How close to home, no-one may ever know, but the further from home, the more impressive the forgery, for sure, up to the point where the forgery itself becomes a work of art. Considering how many details were wrong, I’m inclined to believe a lot of the emotions were real. I’ve done a little bit of acting in my student days and was struck by how many homosexual people this drew in (we’re talking more than 50% here). I thought then that if being homosexual is controversial (I was considered one for 2 years at high-school, but I was one of those rare PC people at my school who was more proud than worried, and enjoyed being allowed at the talks where girls discussed at which age they thought they should lose their virginity - at 15, the general consensus was 17 btw). Incidentally, I just remember reading here that Mrs. Six was described as working at McDonalds before, and I think she referred to her more recently as a psychiatrist. Ah well, such is life. Little of what I learnt from that discussion has changed value from that discussion, as you will see, and it just confirms that clinging stubbornly to high standards of knowledge and thinking is justified. ---

Posting at work is fun … :smack: To finish the line I self-involvedly left dangling when the phone interrupted me: \*I thought then that if being homosexual is controversial \* enough so that it forces you to hid it, you’re forced into acting something you’re not and to become more aware of playing a certain role in life. Life’s a stage and all that. I remember that what bothered me most about (just about all, not just homosexual ones) actors I hung out with then is that they stayed in character whether or not they were on or off the stage. It made them come across, well, fake. Mind you, they were all more or less amateurs and I was probably the worst, having no previous experience and being completely boggled by the sheer amount of text I had to remember (let’s just say my visual memory is … better). ---
