# Getting Drafted...?

Has the SD Webmaster or the SD Omnipotent Powers That Be ever considered allowing paying members a very minimal amount of server space to store drafts of questions? This would be handy when one needs to craft one’s question or gets called away for more pressing matters; however, one does not wish to lose their precious and most sacred thoughts. What do you say about this?

Which vBulletin feature would we need to turn on to enable this?
More seriously this is probably a lot easier to implement on your end. Some browsers will do this automatically, and even if not, there’s always composing your post in Notepad or TextEdit, and copy-and-pasting it when ready.

How do you propose that they do this? There is no such function in vBulletin. Who would do the work to make such a thing? How many people would actually use it? This idea is insanely flawed.
Do you know how to use a word process or a notepad? Why not craft your sacred thoughts there? Seriously, I am really curious about your answer. Why not use the much more reasonable solution of doing it yourself on you own computer instead of creating a shit ton of work for someone else?

They do have this option. It is integrated with google docs. You just open up google docs to write up your draft (it autosaves and is accessible from any browser!) When you’re ready to post, just copy and paste.

When I compose a lengthy post on my phone, I’ll start it in my notepad app and save it. Then I’ll copy and paste it over to the Dope.

This assumes that one can use Google in the first place. It’s better to use your native word processor.

This pretty much sums it up.
Or, you could use the “buddy” system. PM your your profound but not-fully-formed thoughts to an SDMB friend, and retrieve from your Sent Items as required.

Tapatalk will generally ask you if you want to insert the autosaved draft if you have to close the app before posting.
