So, instructing someone to maintain discipline is an affront and “respect” means cowering in fear that the other person might kill you. In someone’s mind, a “I’m not gonna argue with you, you leave, now!” became interpreted as “Fuck off, bitch!” and that could not be allowed to stand (and if the latter had happened it would not merit anything other than a complaint to management anyway… most infuriating part about it is those three criminals probably can’t fathom that notion and may spend their lives in prison saying to themselves The Man screwed them over).
How sad that someone doing the work that should be getting done has to perish because there’s people who live by impulse alone.
(And Jesus on a Rollerskate, really, do we NEED to bring in every other pet issue of ours?)
I can’t help but wonder if husband and wife spent a while drinking before they decided that she must be avenged. One doesn’t normally murder guards because they throw you out of a store.
Don’t understand why the woman Sharmel was charged with murder? She did not pull the trigger. Would not evidence be required to establish she incited her husband to do it? Who knows maybe she actually tried to calm them down?
I believe it sets a precedent; some other crime will be found to be almost as vile, and would jurors would not have problems with it, another crime would be kind of sort of as vile, etc.
MAGA stupidity doesn’t encourage stupidity among Trumpists solely; the contempt of science combined with conspiracy theories, gaslighting, and feckless response to growing financial insecurity is going to encourage aggression and hostility from people of all social, political, and economic backgrounds.
So yeah, I still go back to blaming Trump and the repubs who support him.
Conspiracy and/or accessory? Could be like the driver for a bank robbery team: they may not have been in the bank when the guard was killed but they were aiding in the commission of a crime during which a murder was committed; so even if they weren’t directly involved, they are still charged.
This is an awful tragedy, to be sure. But I feel I can say with certainty that Trump did not enter the picture on this one.
This is Flint, Michigan, famous for tainted drinking water, famous for poverty and high crime rates. I lived there for a couple of years, I know the territory.
More than likely the perps are not upstanding citizens known for their charitable good deeds and probity. And what are the chances that the exchange between the guard and the offending lady did not progress in an entirely civil manner? (I’m not in any way blaming the guard, I’m just suggesting that he would have likely felt that taking a tough approach became warranted.)
So, poor low-life goes to the Dollar store, doesn’t have a mask (because they probably don’t have easy access to them), and gets wound up because they can’t get in (maybe they just got their SNAP card refilled and were going to buy groceries for the family). Being the sort that is accustomed to escalating confrontations, they exchange words with the guard. (Maybe they even knew each other from the community. Maybe they already had opinions about each other.) This gets them even more wound up, so they go home and get their husband and son just as wound up as they are. And the rest, as they say, is history…
She left with her daughter and then returned with the two men. They weren’t even there originally.
Also, the article states that the security guard told her that her daughter could not enter the store without a mask. That would seem to indicate the mother was wearing a mask. But that’s not going to stop the worlds biggest fucking idiot, BigT and his buddy DrDouche from making the absolute dumbest fucking leaps of logic I’ve ever read on this message board. How anyone can read this article and think this was the result of a Trump-inspired, pro-MAGA, anti-mask defiance is just beyond me.
How about you stop wagging your finger at everyone and just shove it up your ass.
