Thank you all for attending. Not to get too sappy, but it makes me pleased and proud to belong to such an intelligent, friendly and fun group. It is nice to be among people who will actually understand my obscure references in conversation. It was especially a pleasure to no met the non-member husbands and wives and of course the children. ---

Well, the mac and cheese I brought seemed to be a hit, so here’s the recipe: 2C Barilla Plus elbow noodles 2C whole milk 20oz Velveeta, cubed 2C shredded mild cheddar 4 slices white American cheese Salt and pepper Pre-heat oven to 350. Boil noodles in well-salted water in a large pot. Don’t over-boil; I leave them for about 7 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water, set aside. In the same pot you cooked the noodles in, add milk and cubed Velveeta. Stir frequently until the Velveeta gets pretty “melt-y”, then add the shredded cheddar. Stir frequently until both cheeses are completely melted. Add white American cheese and salt and pepper to taste, stir constantly until the American cheese is completely melted and sauce is smooth. Add pasta back in to sauce and stir to get all the noodles well-coated. Pour the whole mess into a 2qt baking dish (I spray mine with non-stick cooking spray first to expedite clean-up a tiny bit), and bake for 30 minutes or until the top starts to get golden and the smell is driving you insane with hunger. 🙂 ---

It should also be noted that **danceswithcats** supplied convincing evidence that his knowledge of chili is not of yesterday. Any chance we might see those recipes? (There were two: Reasonably Hot and Substantially Moreso.) ---

Just a suggestion for next time… whoever makes off with all the bowls and plates and utensils should probably wait till the very end, when people are finished eating. ---

If they wanted chili + cheesecake, it’s probably just as well there were no more utensils 😉 We left behind one container of chocolate cookies, and the cheese ball’s remnants + a plateful of crackers; hopefully whatever leftovers there were of those either got tossed or found a home with someone who left later. Woulda left the baked beans as well but they weren’t in a disposable container (maybe next time I’ll bring a foil pan to dump them into). Oh - and I too would like the chili recipes, pretty please!!! ---

Also, someone made little chocolate cookies, with nuts and dried cherries (I think) in them. Could I get that recipe, please? ---

I made the cookies. I make very good cookies. But the sad truth is I use the recipe on the back of the Hersey semi-sweet chocolate chips.
