I want to know how the dog that was visible to everyone who’s ever seen it magically disappeared from view of everyone except him ---

Once he stopped fleeing (or rather, ran out of places to go and turned at bay), it started to possess him. His perception of it as it approached was in his head; it was no longer physically present, so there was nothing for anyone else to see. In other words, it magically disappeared from view of everyone except him. 😃 ---

It’s very dark outside. Your eyes are adjusted to the light, it’s easy for things out in the dark to not be visible at all. Louis was right up against the glass and he had light from inside spilling out onto him. The Vinz Clortho Beastie is back off a bit in the dark. Naturally they would not have seen it. ---

True, and then was the bizarre back & forth over how much people remembered of the Great Martian Invasion of 1953 when **War of the Worlds** was made into a TV show. ---

Of course, no one has yet mentioned the one mistake that grates me every time I hear it, even to this day. Near the end Ray references the Tunguska Blast as being in 1909. It happened in 1908. Small detail but it bugs me. ---

[The Tunguska Event](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event) happened in 1908. **The Tunguska _Blast_** was a three day interdimensional cross-rip music festival that took place in Krasnoyarsk to mark the one year anniversary of the Tunguska Event. ---

The humor from that scene stems from the fact that New York City denizens are so wrapped up in their own affairs that even the sight of a demon dog possession was not enough to hold their attention for more than a few moments. I’m convinced all the diners saw the dog. ---
