My grandboss has a container of fun-sized candy bars on a table in his office and he encourages us to come in and pick up a couple any time there’s not a meeting in there. That’s both good and bad. What’s annoying me is that so many of the wrappers develop a charge of static electricity and stick to my fingers, making tossing them in the wastebasket an odd hand dance. getoffgetoffgetoff ---

Lysol is supposed to chemically neutralize odors by killing airborne bacteria that causes the odors. That’s typically what I use. Febreze works differently by using cyclodextrins, which are glucose molecules that form rings, and capture aromatic molecules in them. My wife’s allergies are set off by Febreze, otherwise we’d probably use that too. ---

Minor rant- I forgot to get a memorial candle to light before sundown on Yom Kippur. Major Anti Rant- While looking for a memorial candle, I found a mysterious plastic bag. In the bag was a bunch of flash paper and a pouch of flash cotton. While doing further looking, I found a small can of smoke powder. ---

Just in case I was unclear- In Judaism you light a candle to remember the departed on the anniversary of their death on the Jewish calendar, and before the Day Of Atonement. I thought I was out of memorial candles (they are thick and designed to last about 24 hours. and come in thick glass holders.). I thought I had an electric memorial candle. But that seems to be at my Mom’s place. ---

Some workplaces make it so tough to lose weight. In the college where I worked, I swear the admins sitting at the front desk of each office made it a competition. I had to walk right past fluffy donuts, homemade ginger cookies, croissants from the French patisserie…it was hell. I had to invent the Necco Diet. Pick some really small treat that you love and crunch on that as you walked right by temptation. ---

That way, you could say “Forgot the memorial candle. BRB.” Then you set off the smoke/flash, and emerge from the cloud of smoke with the candle in your hand. Ta-da! ---

I cannot get Retro Arch to work properly. Retro Arch is a very good multi emulator. Lately, I’ve been using it to replay Zelda Occarina Of Time. I had to reboot my computer this morning. When I tried bringing up Retro Arch, I got a different screen then usual. It wouldn’t respond to my game pad. It wouldn’t respond to the mouse. When I load content and rom, nothing happens. ---

The kitchen vent was directly below my bedroom window ---

This is weird. Last night I succumbed to temptation and ordered a pizza delivered. What I received from Papa John’s\* was…peculiar. Instead of being round, the pizza was squared off at one end, some crust missing, and a couple of pieces consisted of folded-over crust without toppings. All in all it was pretty good but not what I expected. Today I get an e-mail from Papa John’s saying “We’re sorry”. “At Papa Johns, we’re committed to making every part of your pizza experience better. We know your recent delivery wasn’t up to our usual standards and we want to make it right. Use the link below to get a **50% off regular menu price** with your next order.” That’s nice - but if they knew they were making me substandard pizza, they could have done something about it at the time. \*I know, but pizza options in this burg are limited. Domino’s delivers to outlyiing areas like mine but my one experience with them was semi-awful. ---

I remember having an N64 one a while back and played Ocarina of Time on it with an old controller and a USB adapter. I hope you get it figured out. Being able to play those games on a PC is a real treat. ---

Thanks. I tried running an NES game in RA to get more information. The game played, but with no sound and you could see the desktop through the game screen. I’m currently running virus and malware scans.
