Giant flags at football games. Weight?

Yeah, guess I was wrong about the burning thing. Still is a best practice to not let it hit the ground though and that’s why my initial question was about the weight. People underneath seems to work.

The flag code also says that it shouldn’t be used for clothing, and shouldn’t fly 24/7. There’s not the outrage about violations of the flag code that you think there is.

It can fly at night if it is lit.

If it’s impractical to take it down, then keeping it lit and making it out of weather-resistant material is an acceptable compromise. But it’s best to take it down, if possible.

Most of the flags you see flying 24/7 could perfectly well be taken down at night or in rain. Their owners just don’t feel like it.

The gigantic flag in Sheboygan Wisconsin is up almost 24/7 (if you’ve ever driven by it you know it). It is lit at night. They will take it down in bad weather though (how bad it needs to be before they take it down I have no idea but doubtless they have some rules for that).

It’s big enough that I am sure it is a real chore to take it down.
