What is it like when the biggest worry in your world is what other people wear? I need to invite a fashionista to view my closet, just to watch his/her head explode! 😃 Of all the things in the world to get spun up about. :rolleyes: I may giggle and snark about your outfit after you pass by, but I’m pretty sure it won’t push me over the edge, regardless of what you choose to wear. ---

I too think Uggs are the ugliest thing ever, and I have hardly ever met a shoe I didn’t like. However, if people want to wear them, it’s really none of my business. But I guarantee none of those girls would be wearing them if they weren’t extremely trendy. Warmth and comfort are just little perks. ---

You can pry my Crocs from my cold, dead body. They are the only things that keep my feet and back from being in constant pain. When Blahnik finally figures out that there is plenty of room in a 2.5" platform for a soft, shock absorbing layer - then we’ll talk. In the mean time, anyone who argues that women “should” be uncomfortable in order to provide total strangers with aesthetic pleasure has a seriously flawed character. And as soon as I have some money to spend on myself, I’m buying a pair of Uggs. ---

I don’t mind Uggs per se. But so often I see girls wearing filthy looking Uggs with track suit pants tucked into them. Ick. That specific look always causes me to involuntarily pull a face. ---

I’m Robin and I have a pair of Crocs. (Hi, Robin!) I love my Crocs, but as bedroom slippers. The lining keeps my feet warm and they’re waterproof, so I can wear them outside. They’re also nice and spongy so my back and knees don’t hurt when I’m in the kitchen. But they don’t leave the house. As for Ugg boots, they’d look much better if their wearers didn’t dress like slobs in the first place. I’ve never seen them on someone who wasn’t wearing sweatpants or some miniskirt that looks like it belongs in the rag bag. It’s possible to dress comfortably without looking like a total slob. Great. Now I sound like my mother. Someone, please shoot me now. ---

Fashion snobs are against Uggs because they weren’t created by the “right” people. If Prada had invented them you wouldn’t hear one peep about their popularity. Crocs, on the other hand, are ugly as sin (we are talking about those dayglo rubber/plastic abominations, right?) ---

There have been plenty of upscale knockoffs of the style. They’re still butt-ugly. I’m generally biased against any seamed sheepskin looks, though - and definitely against the knit ones. (Smooth leather uppers are a plus at least.) Not a fashionista here, either - I own a pair of the aforementioned Sorel winter boots in a color they themselves labeled “Dirt.” ---
