# Gimp tutorial needed

I downloaded The Gimp so I can edit a picture but need a good tutorial for someone who has never used GIMP or Photoshop before what is suggested?

Hey, I’m in the same boat. The [user manual](http://www.gimp.org/docs/) files are also available. [This](http://wiki.gimp.org/gimp/) is another source for finding details.
I just downloaded [Grokking the GIMP](http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html) and am working my way through it. It’s taking a while and I figure it will be a long time before I can use it effectively.
If you find some Photoshop tutorials, you may be able to adapt the processes to GIMP. It’s the process that is important.
