Yeah, I’m shocked, shocked that Pedro Pascal also compared his plight to that of the Jews under the Nazis and for months espoused right wing conspiracy theories and yet he’s still employed by Disney. Oh wait. He didn’t do that? But it’s exactly the same case. So of course he had to have done those things. It’s not like fly by night conservative posters might _gasp_ be wrong about facts!? ---

We have some PhD world experts in a bunch of fields, but we’ve also got a lot of amateur aficionados who just happen to know a lot about some subject or other. There tends not to be a whole lot of pulling rank or flashing one’s diplomas or test scores (at least not since the lately departed SlackerInc has been gone) to establish one’s authority to fight ignorance. The only required qualifications are a commitment to rational understanding of a subject, and a willingness to recognize factual reality and put in the effort to learn stuff that you didn’t know before. ---
