He’s been fairly decent toward me on the whole, I’d have to say. He does have a bit of a mean streak, and enjoys the limelight of approval but so do a lot of us. He didn’t close my whoosh thread, which was nice I guess. ---

Wiki actually sucks pretty damn fiercely when it comes to an elaboration on the Sephirot. Especially since it’s not just the Sephirot which are important, but the paths between them (part of the origin of the mystic term “pathworking”). It is, for instance, divided into a left and a right handed path as well as a central path. Chessed is mercy. I don’t have my books on hand and I’m nowhere near as well versed in the Kaballah as I used to be when I was a Minerval in the O.’.T.’.O.’., but from memory I’d say that it’s between Chokhmah (wisdom) and Netezach (victory) and connected to Tipareth (beauty). But then again, everything but Kether and Malkuth are directly connected to Tipareth. The Supernal Triad (Kether, Binah, Chokhmah) are separated from the ‘lower’ Sephirot by Daath, which in the mystic tradition is represented by The Abyss. Picture a martini glass with the Supernal Triad as the rim and Daath as the point where the glass joins the stem. ---

Thanks Alessan, I haven’t been able to speak and understand Hebrew since I was learning it as a young teen. After I became a bar mitzvah I began losing whatever little ability I once had. All I really remember is that from my parshah “shelosh rigalim” means three festivals. I know a few other scattered phrases here and there like “Melech ha’olam” and such… but bah. Thanks for clearing up my ignorance. On the ‘mystic’ side of things, even with the Tree of Life I’m dealing mostly with memory that’s half a decade old, at best. My personal library is scattered across two states as it is. Oh, and a nitpick for Ms. Rigby: the book’s title isn’t possessive, it’s an imperative directed at a plural. That is, it’s not “finnegan’s” anything, but an order to all finnegans to wake. ---

As I was taught by my teachers, Chessed is kindness, but as it’s also the sphere of Jupiter, it’s about expansion, majesty and mercy. Its symbol is that of a loving king on a throne - it’s love, but it’s active, unidirectional, governing love, not sexy love or gushy love. It’s the love of the worker at a soup kitchen, not the love of a child or sexual partner. The Divine Name in Chessed is \*El \* and means “Strength” “Might” or “Power”. It’s most often modified with another word or words, but in Chessed, it’s _El_ alone. A phrase many Kabalists use to remember Chessed is “Love is the Law”. ---

In reference to the “Everyone hates you” remark, I genuinelly got **Giraffe** and another Mod mixed up. I won’t mentioned that Mod to avoid offending them. But I apologise _again_ to **Giraffe** for doing that. Leaving my job would be difficult because it is a unique job and I couldn’t get paid the same somewhere else because somewhere else I’d have to fall back on my ‘less valuable’ skills. And I did have a long word with my boss. I pretty much said everything that needed to be said. This was shortly after the non-pay-rise. I got promised a ‘review’ around christmas time. If nothing comes of that I will leave the company and find a happier less well paid job.
