I’ve been with this girl for several months. She and me were very close. Their was talk of marriage. I was saving up for an engagement ring. Something nice. So, she tells me to meet her at this cafe so we can talk about something important. This is very odd. Talks at restaraunts were a sign that something was wrong. We’d work out everthing else at home, but for the heavy shit, we’d go to a restaraunt so I can’t freak out or anything like that. We met. I order some drinks. (words are not exact) “Kurt, I need to tell you something…” “What?” (lots of stalling bullshit) “Kurt, I don’t think we can be togther anymore…” “Why?” “I just can’t.” What is it, my fucking breath? Just fucking tell me! “Why can’t you?” “Because.” Has the mob sworn you to break up with me, or face death? What reason could be so bad that you can’t tell me? This really hurt me. No indication of any problems between us. 7 months down the fucking drain, and I don’t even know why. Despite my probing, nothing much came out of the conversaition. She’s coming tonight to get her stuff. Maybe I can try to find out more. Girl, what the fuck? ---

A person cannot go through life having to go to a restaurant everytime something unpleasant has to be discussed. It sounds to me like you might not be in control of your temper and she might be feeling very uncomfortable with that. I have no idea if that is the problem, but it’s a start. If you were almost engaged and have no clue about why you are breaking up, then there are huge communication problems. I’m sorry that you are hurting. If you do talk, it is important to _listen_ respectfully and not try to tell her what she “should” be feeling. Try to find out if there has been a misunderstanding. Don’t yell. ---

Ok, I get that you’re upset about the way this woman broke up with you (and I agree, it’s not a nice way). But, really. Bad idea at present to bring it to the pit at all. I **seriously** recommend that you beg for this to be closed before the sharks come in. If you’re looking for sympathy about it, generally MPSIMS is a better place. ---

He asked why people sniping at him when he posted about something bad happening to him, mere hours after he did the same thing to another Doper. I don’t want anything bad to happen to him, and I feel for anyone who truly is in pain. But, if his real life actions are anything like his SDMB presence, than it doesn’t take a leap of computer power to figure out what may have happened. ---
