Yes - it’s true! My equation proves it thusly: Girls = Money x Time Time = Money Girls = Money squared (how do you do the little superscript?) Money is the Root of all evil Girls = the square root of Money squared Girls = Evil I’m a member of the female persuasion myself, and don’t really believe this. But I thought it was funny, so I decided to share it. I’ve been trying to think up other mathematical equations like it (to prove that BOYS are evil), but haven’t had any success so far. Part of your equation is in error: “Money is the root of all evil” is not the full quote. technically, ‘straight men, lesbians, and all bisexuals’… leaving only straight women out of the evil business. St. Paul is probably spinning in his tomb… (wasn’t he the one who really didn’t seem to trust women at all?) ---

I wasn’t the one who invented the equation - my good friend, Rob, (who is Jewish) invented it. I doubt he knows a whole lot about St. Paul, or the New Testament. He was probably just quoting it as a popular saying. ---

I’m doubtful that your friend invented it, either, since I got that one by spam about a year ago… though it is vaguely possible that one could reinvent it, but the text is exactly the same as the spam I got - do most people still say ‘girl’? Does your friend? take the ‘your’ as a general term. I meant it as ‘the one you provided’ not that you invented it. Just pointing out how to turn it back around and make it ‘boys’ are evil. 🙂 ---

oh, and BTW, I didn’t have much of a biblical upbringing, either (raised Unitarian Universalist… whole other thread, there!). The full text of the quote was pointed out to me by a woman I know - she’s Jewish, too. She just happens to collect commonly misused quotes. ---

Wow - that’s freaky! Rob invented it a year ago too (or so it seems). He was in a boring Spanish class last September, and someone dared him to come up with an equation that proved girls were evil. He’s never online, and he never checked his email, so I don’t think he got it from spam. But that’s nifty spam to recieve! Intelligent (or semi-intelligent, at least) premise… 🙂 ---

**Hooray!** I’d thought no one was interested in why girls were evil (other than that tired old reason given by the Bible-beaters). Here’s a proposition - can any of you justify something else with math? I seem to remember a Simpsons episode where Homer mathematically proved there was no God. Flanders promptly burned it. Deep Thought: Would my $0.02 still be worth as much in England, since they use pounds? Or in Canada? Or in Australia? They both use the dollar system too…
