it’s probably a fad. Wasn’t during the eighties that teenaged boys would wear the midriff-showing shirts? Once this fad goes away a new one will arrive which makes young girls look sexy in ways that annoys their parents. I feel like singing something from the Lion King. ---

I think the reaosn why you don’t see everyone walking around in sweatpants is beacuse they want to look attractive to _themselves_. Not saying there aren’t times when people dress purely to impress others, but I think a lot of it is “How do I feel in these clothes? Attractive or like a hideous witch?” YMMV, of course, blah blah. ---

They would also not ask other for their opinions about what looks good and what they look good in. The only woman I know who asked “Do these pants make my ass look fat” has spoken with delight of the response from her partner, which was something like, “No, your fat ass makes your ass look fat.” As far as my experience goes, **LunaSea** and **Guinastasia** have it right on the money. I don’t wear slippers. I find them uncomfortable. ---

I’m sorry that you don’t like tattoos and piercings. If done well, they can be very artistic, and can accent a person’s good features. They can also symbolise things in a person’s life that they want to remember. But that’s not the point here, heh, I’ve defended Body Modification in a lot of posts. Belly shirts and low pants don’t bother me unless they’re on girls below the age of, oh, 16 or 17 or so. Anyway, a lot of people think I dress trashy. Jeans, Tshirt. Long coat in the winter. If I’m just running a quick errand, I wear my flannel pants. Back to the issue of non-skinny girls wearing belly shirts, get over it. I wish I had the self-esteem to wear something like doesn’t completely hide my form because I’m 15 lbs overweight. If a girl with a pouch feels good about her body, I salute her. Would you rather she devlop an eating disorder to look like everyone tells her she should look like? I mean, ther’s a line with belly shirts. If you’re 5.5’ and weight 200 lbs, okay, don’t wear a belly shirt. But if it’s a little pouch, get over it. The girl probably had a hard time getting her self esteem to the point where she felt good about herself. And now she wants to look sexy. There are people out there who like a little fat, trust me on this. If you don’t, ignore it. ---

As a girl without a perfectly flat washboard stomach, a drawer full of tummy revealing shirts and three tattoos may I say stick it? I like my stomach. I like that it’s not totally flat. I think the little curve is sexy and feminine and so do the men I know. If you don’t like it keep your eyes north of the equator and admire my equally pretty eyes. As for the tattoos, I’m the first to admit they can be done wrong. But mine are small, pretty and of deep personal meaning, designed by my mother and myself. I wouldn’t have gone through the pain, effort and money if I didn’t want them seen and admired, though I do nothing intentional to flaunt them. Perhaps your next vacation should be spent somewhere cold where women’s bodies will be less of a distraction to your drinking and whining? tomndebb, Actually, my brother did tatooing before he joined the Army, and he did 'em himself. Fresh needles, single use ink cartridges, and he did’em for free. The reason that I don’t display them often is that I know that some folks would be offended by my tatoos. No baby eating deamons or fairys or anything, but some folks are truely offended by tatooing. I’d rather not piss folks off. (Yea, c’mon, someone jump on that…) I do know that some really great tatoos (like those displayed in industry magazines) are unique and impossible to duplicate. If not for the medium, they could be considered art (or because of the medium, modern art.) The only time I went into a tatoo parlor asides from my brother’s, they had dozens of drawings on the walls. They were all the same freakin’ thing. Not literally, but the designs were repetative and showed not one shread of individuality among them. If you’re going to display a tatoo, do one that is unique. These pseudo-tribal neo-indian doo-dads I see on folks are just…bland. ---

Poor ol’ **51 cent** wasn’t expecting this ;). I second the proposal to quit bird-watching and head down to and enjoy some of the wonderful sites in Thailand. I’m all for tattooing, piercing as long as they aren’t overdone. And I’m quite a fan belly-revealing too… (erm, that’s ladies’ bellies, not mine. It’s hairy.) ---
