[Mitch Benn’s Xmas album needs some love](https://mitchbenn.bandcamp.com/album/christmas-whether-you-like-it-or-not-2021). Benn’s main thing is soundalike parodies rather than straight parodies like Weird Al so the styles may sound familiar but not obvious. Tracks 1, 5, and 10 are personal faves. ---

Kathy Mattea sings new material. You won’t find Jingle Bells, Rudolph or any of the kids Christmas songs on her two Christmas albums. Good News 1993 and Joy for Christmas Day 2003 I usually like to play Christmas music and zone out. Can’t do that with Mattea. I have to really listen closely to the unfamiliar lyrics. ---

I was listening to Christmas music on Pandora (yes, it’s me the Jewish person who likes Christmas music!) and I heard a really great instrumental of the Little Drummer Boy. I found the album on Amazon and ended up buying the whole thing: It’s Snow Waltz by Lindsey Stirling and apparently just came out this year so definitely qualifies as new . ---
