Every show gives titles to its episodes (I believe)- it’s just that until the arrival of the internet, the common man was denied access to these wondrous titles. Simpsons: The one where Lisa is shrilly self-righteous and/or opinionated The one where Moe renovates the bar The one where Barney goes on the wagon (This one only happened once, but I just like the sound of it) The one where Comic Book Guy pops his cherry (I just put that one in for a cheap gross out gag, even though its anatomically incorrect) Seinfeld: The one where Jerry snaps and murders Kramer, hiding his body in the closet (Okay, never happened, but I’d love to see it) ---

The in-joke with Friends, of course, is that all their titles are delierately in the style of “The One With Joey’s Ass” or “The One Where Phoebe Saying Something Dumb.” Which, of course, is the way every adult in the English-speaking world refers to a specific episode of ANY sitcom anyway… “Hey, do you remember that episode of MASH? _The one with the_ North Korean spy?” Nobody remembers the title of any TV show episode, except “The Twilight Zone,” so the Friends people just went ahead and called the episodes what everyone would have called them anyway. ---

The titles are printed on the scripts. SHOW TITLE Production #84104820148 Episode Title by Writer is the way it’s usually put.
