For me, when I see the scenes with Sue’s sister Jean, I don’t believe I’m seeing Sue. I feel like I’m seeing more of the real Jane Lynch - who I understand is a real sweetheart. So in that scene, I don’t feel like I’m seeing any acting, just Jayne prompting Robin Trocki (who plays Jean) to say her lines . And that makes it’s disjointed for me. ---

I remember Run, Joey, Run from 1975. I was 4 years old. An apparition of Jesus’s face had allegedly appeared on the altar cloth of a Catholic church in Shamokin, PA. My Catholic mother and aunt made the 3 hour drive from Altoona to Shamokin, with me in tow, to see it. In that 6 hour round-trip, I think the radio stations we pulled in along the way played RJR at least 12 times. I have that song still lying restlessly in the [del]groove[/del] canyon that it carved into my brain that summer day 35 years ago. (And no, I never did actually see the face. I tried like crazy, but nothing. I think that’s the day I REALLY lost my faith, though it took me another 14 years to actually toss the whole construct aside.) ---

As for Jane Lynch, she sang in _A Mighty Wind_ and while I doubt she’d sell albums she can carry a tune. Plus, you have Olivia Newton John there, all she really has to do is harmonize and lip sync. (I loved Sue’s line “I’m not working with her again”- in her mind they’re totally on equal footing as singers.) * * * The big problem since GLEE’s return is that Sue has to carry the show. Mr. Shu just isn’t that interesting- he’s too nice- and the drama in the club members lives just lacks the baby-daddy-drama of earlier episodes. They need more interesting arcs. ---

Did anybody notice the fat curly haired kid in the library when they did their MC Hammer Muppet Babies thing was sitting in the Glee club next time they met? I wonder if his character will be developed. And I would love to sing with Mark Sallis… I’d love to sing with him for days and days. All kinds of different songs. (I think he’s going to be really famous in a couple of years- he’s not a bad actor and a decent singer and of course could burn all the oil in the Gulf with his hotness.) ---

Yes, I want to see him more too. And more of him, except I’ve seen enough of his armpits now. I think they can start phasing out the Mohawk; we get that he is a Bad Boy. And **Sampiro** , yes, there has been talk about the fat kid (I hate calling him that); apparently he’s been in some other background scenes and he seems to be one of those try-to-spot-him things, like NINA in Hirschfeld sketches. Sorry, **MissTake** , I know. Try “Before the Next Teardrop Falls” as an antidote. ---

that fat kid is popping up on a lot of shows. chuck, im sure of. he’s a buy-more employee in that one. personally he creeps me out a little, but i can appreciate the typecast role he fills. i’m willing to give this forgettable 2nd half of the season a pass since they rushed it, but if the next season is as poorly constructed, i’ll probably stop watching this show. ---

Did they really need to autotune Olivia Newton John singing Physical? I mean, come on, that’s like painting pants on Michelangelo’s David or something. Autotuning Sue, well, still annoying, but understandable, but autotuning the original star who original did it without any such shenanigans? Come on! ---
