Holy shit… what the fuck was _that_? I’ve never looked too closely at Beck, never caught more than a glimpse. Was that parody (i.e., a Beck impersonator)? Was it edited? ---

I was going to join Americorps but you have to refrain from political activity & I wasn’t really ready to commit to that. ---

I’m beginning to get the feeling that Glenn Beck is a performance artist who is cleverly pushing the envelope further and further until he gets to the point that not one single person of sufficient rationality to use a comb successfully could accept what he says at face value. My guess for when he hits that point: never. ---

I had the same theory, that perhaps he’s the Andy Kaufman of political pundits. His goal is more to get an emotional rise out of people (doesn’t matter if it’s positive or negative) rather than to push forth any sort of coherent political agenda. Either way he’s made a very nice living at it. ---

Can you get vegan jackboots? I ask because one of my best friends served two tours in Americorps and she’s a vegan and doesn’t wear leather. She’s going to die laughing when I post this link on her Facebook wall. (Seriously, I know quite a few Americorps alums and I’m having a hard time imagining a group of people _less_ likely to engage in jackbooted thuggery.) ---

You can’t do political activities while on the job. On your own time, do what you want. It is pretty much the same rules that Federal employees live by. Volunteer away.
