Has anyone noticed that the UK media is far more likely to mention someone’s weight than the US media is? Or, at least, be more brazen about it. Over here, someone might say Beck is ‘rotund’ or ‘doughy’ while over there it wouldn’t be surprising to read ‘he could lose about 60 pounds.’ I think fatness is too sensitive a subject here, perhaps. ---
