Glueing Plastic to Plastic

Each time you apply the wrong kind of glue, you build up a layer of that glue. So now you’re not trying to bond, say, PVC to PVC, you’re trying to bond dried crazy glue to dried crazy glue.

My point is to take the time to determine what sort of plastic it is, then get the correct adhesive.

Also, take a few minutes & attempt to remove any & all dried glue residue. Scrubbing with a kitchen sponge & some rubbing alcohol then again with some paint thinner will remove most of whatever you’ve got stuck there without deforming the plastic too much.

Use any kind of glue. Apply a thin layer to both pieces, then hold it in place for a year or two, maybe a couple of months past that.

Apparently cheese works very well, from the mess I found this morning after my spouse made quesadillas for dinner.
