# Gmail invitations: do they get rescinded?

About a year ago, I was invited by my brother-in-law to open a gmail account. i finally got around to doing it just before last Thanksgiving. At the time, I was told I could invite up to one hundred people to open gmail accounts. I invited exactly one friend to open an account in January, leaving me with what I thought was 99 more invitations to distribute.
Last week, another friend asked me if I could let him into the club. Happy to oblige, I went to my gmail page, and looked for the “invite a friend” option. But I can’t find it now, aaarrrghhh. I’d like to believe that this is merely a case of me forgetting where the option is, the way I sometimes forget how to move the taskbar in my browser, but I’m worried that the folks at Google noticed that I wasn’t using them, and took them back.
Does this hapen? Did I fritter away my opportunity to invite people to gmail/ Or did I just lose track of a function that’s been there all along, safe and sound?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer me.

It should be the last item in the left-side column of your inbox.
Interestingly, everytime I invited someone to Gmail the number of invitations would go back to 100 the next time I opened the page. Now I notice I’ve only got 99 left.

What, right below Contacts, Labels; or right below Trash? 'Cause it’s not showing on my screen.
N.B. I note that it won’t let me access my settings screen from work, evidently because I don’t have the latest supported browser. Could this be a factor in why I’m not finding these invitations?

And if you really don’t have any left, I’m sure you could find plenty of people with invites to spare. I’ve got a couple and can invite your friend if you give me his email.

I think that may be the reason. It used to be that Gmail refused to run at all on unsupported browsers. Now, I think you get a simplified HTML-only version of the interface.

Thank you for that. The feature does not show on my screen at work. I’ll check from home this evening.
**Reply** , thanks for the offer. Turns out the first guy I invited wasn’t interested, so I went to my “sent” file, found the original invitation, clicked on the link, and created a new account, which I then turned over to my pal. It also doesn’t show any invitations available. Does anyone know if recently-formed accounts are supposed to be getting invites to pass out?
