All we need is a God that that actively enforces “Do Unto Others”, with obvious rewards and punishments during Earthly life. All that other crap we can handle ourselves. ---

I think that at confession, instead of the priest telling us to say 12 Hail Mary’s and 5 Our Father’s, he should give us some jelly beans and tell us to go sleep it off. Mmm…pie. Sure beats the paper-thin wafers of my childhood. Ever had to sit in church and try to get the wafer off the roof of your mouth? ---
