No Jinx, she was saying that she is only 29 and knows the song intimately. That was supposed to be “Has anyone ever heard the song??” She was dismayed at the question.
Since we’re talking about the meaning of S&G songs, I read many years ago that “Bridge Over Troubled Water” was about drugs, specifically a dealer’s promise to provide relief from life’s problems. I doubt that it’s true, but it fits pretty well. I told someone about this and he had a fit because they sang the song in church. It’s odd that the same song can have such different interpretations. What was that about “Opiate of the Masses”?
You people are too sensitive. It’s not that I’m young, I’m just out of it. I never know if the songs I listen to are well known. Heck, usually I’ve never heard of songs that are well known. My friends talk about bands and songs and I go, “who?” Then they look at me funny and ask if I’ve ever turned on the radio.
I would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!
Yes, by none other than Wilson Bryan Key, the same man who proved that there is an orgy in a plate of clams and the word “SEX” written on Ritz crackers.
Correctamundo! Subliminal Seduction. Bonus points for the animal that was raping a woman in the ice cubes!
