So CBS is going to [air a series](https://youtu.be/ItBwgskZg70) about an atheist who “friends” God on Facebook and gets all _Joan of Arcadia_’ed. \*Jesus Christ \*does it look godawful! I’d rather watch a block of _New Magnum_, _New Mcguiver_, _New Lethal Weapon_ and _New Heathers_. And worst of all, I’m sure that the theme song _won’t_ be a parody of the old hymn [_Love Lifted Me_](https://youtube.com/watch?v=YbE3Rmfhtz4#). ---

I’ve seen a couple of episodes now, and it is about as deep and meaningful as all its predecessors. Do Christians actually like this kind of video Pablum, which seems to put the lie to a central tenet of most Christian sects: Blind faith over evidence-based faith? ---

My only thought (when I see ads for it) is that the title instantly sounds dated, like “God Has a MySpace Page” or “God is Haunting My Beatle Boots”. ---

Evidence-based faith is a contradiction in terms. Faith by definition is not evidence-based. Christians “like” the video Pablum in the same way that diet-crazed people “like” certain terrible foods; it makes them feel virtuous for watching it, and virtuous for NOT watching “all the other immoral stuff on TV these days”. ---
