This made me shudder in a way that the “God hates a fag” video was not able to muster due to the guy singing it and his pink shirt. ---

I just hope FP drops dead of a rant-induced heart attack soon, so some of the young ones can get therapy and maybe have a shot at a normal life. Since FP doesn’t allow marriage out of the group I see some serious inbreeding coming up in a few years. Yes, I know his daughter is running day-to-day operations and is set to take over, but maybe she won’t have the control he does. We’re all entitled to dream. I feel so sorry for the kids in that group. And as for the FP funeral; are we going to charter a rainbow-painted bus? I call a window seat! I’m not gay but I’m still allowed to celebrate! Hell, since I’m Pagan the old fart would probably burn me at the stake! ---

I’m usually in favor of live and let live, y’know? But _damn_ I wish someone could prove that allowing children to be raised in this environment qualifies as abuse, and those poor little things could be taken outta there before their minds are that warped. ---

A lot of us were raised by people whose opinions we have…outgrown. To accuse someone of child abuse based on naught but their opinions…however repulsive…is a bridge too far. ---

But really, though many among us were raised by people whose opinions we’ve outgrown, how many of us were raised in such a way that escaping those opinions was just this side of impossible? I’m not saying that we need to make an exception to the abuse laws in this case. I’m just saying that it’s sickening and heartbreaking that those poor kids have so much stacked against them and will, in all likelihood, never be able to break free of it.
