The problem Simon, is that he would have had to make this decision to hurt Bush long before now, because as we’ve pointed out, he’s been telling this story for a while now. It’s only after it got front page press that the WH is, well, SORT of denying it. And at least in public, he still endorses Bush as not only his choice, but God’s choice. You’d have to be pretty darn screwed up to lie about what you think God told you. ---

Eh. Before I had Pat Roberton’s number, I used to _watch_ some of the 700 Club on occasion. I never liked him. Never trusted him. He gave off bad vibes. I don’t necessarily take his word as gospel. Never have. This proves nothing, either way, to me. ---

Something distracted me at some point, and while I can’t remember what, I’m sure it was important. By the time I got back to it, they were charging for membership. And, things being as tight as they are (think of Shel Silverstein’s “Oh heck it’s up to my neck”, and you’ve got the idea) I can’t really justify spending five bucks on what is essentially a form of entertainment. Of course, that tax break of GWB’s should be kicking the job market into gear _any minute now_… But I’m not holding my breath. At least, not until it’s covered by my health insurance. The thing is, while I’ve never actually asked, I’m sure I’m kinda bending the rules by posting under my dad’s name. For that matter, I guess I could probably just keep registering new variations on my name until their trial periods end. But once again, I’m pretty sure that would be, at the very least _bending_ the rules, if not breaking them outright. I may be an iconoclast, but I’ve got more respect than that. And who knows, maybe Santa will actually get my christmas list this year and I’ll be able to become a **real** member of the community. Maybe I’ll get that hummer too! (Erm, not the automobile. And **definitely** not from Santa. Ew.) At any rate, until such a time comes, I’ll just content myself with saying something when I simply cannot resist the urge. For instance, when I see a title like “God, Pat Robertson, and GWB” and think “Too… many… zinger responses… can’t… hold… back!” Your friendly neighborhood spokesman for the prolific proletariat, **Weird With Words** P.S. God, Pat Robertson, and GWB… …walk into a bar, and the bartender says “What, is this some kind of bad dream?” …three people who shall have no other before them. …one is dog backwards, one is tap backwords, and the other is ass backwards. …proof that anything can get progressively worse. …three instances of a dubious spiritual affiliation. ---

The problem with this arguments are: -these comments are not new -Robertson endorses Bush -Robertson says that GOD endorses Bush As messed up as Robertson might be, I think lying about who he believes God endorses would be a bit of a stretch. ---

I am pretty miffed! Why does God only communicate with a chosen few? None of our politicians (some of whom where outwardly religious, some were quite stupid and arrogant too, but all have been self-declared Catholics) they have never received any instructions/mandates from God? I want my politicians to talk to God too!\* \*Not! :rolleyes: ---

Conservative politicians make a big deal about **talking to God**. Liberal ones simply speak briefly about their faith in response to direct questions, and otherwise show by their lives and stances that they **listen to Him**. ---
