I’m not privy to parochial school curriculums (curriculae?) so consider me standing corrected. However, AFAIK the Church has never _officially_ accepted evolution as scientific fact, even if they show greater leniency towards evolution, global warming, and the existence of Thomas Jefferson, as compared to the Bible-Belt fundy conspiracy.

If it’s a question of what does more harm, that’s a no-brainer. Protestant fundies may molest children’s minds, but rarely does it go farther than that. (And personally, I believe that mind-molestation is a much greater sin than body-molestation – but sexual abuse already does BOTH.)
