You are quite mistaken on the Catholic Church “supporting” evolution. They have for years and they have taught it in their parochial schools for quite a long time. Perhaps you have a specialized meaning of italicized “fact” that does not comport with modern biological theory (or does).

I’m not privy to parochial school curriculums (curriculae?) so consider me standing corrected. However, AFAIK the Church has never officially accepted evolution as scientific fact, even if they show greater leniency towards evolution, global warming, and the existence of Thomas Jefferson, as compared to the Bible-Belt fundy conspiracy.

But if you are going to criticize them for child mistreatment and molestation (of which I agree they are guilty) you might not want to mix it up with misinformation on evolution, gravity and germ theory.

If it’s a question of what does more harm, that’s a no-brainer. Protestant fundies may molest children’s minds, but rarely does it go farther than that. (And personally, I believe that mind-molestation is a much greater sin than body-molestation – but sexual abuse already does BOTH.)
