… I’ve got a frickin’ **fever-blister** starting right in the middle of my upper lip! It’s just a mini-break for relaxation, and I wasn’t lookin’ to get laid but I just eliminated **that** possibility, however **slim** it mighta been!!! Why of **why** does life insist on parkin’ it’s beefy bus up my ass?:mad: I have some Zovirax ointment, but that thing is really startin’ to “flower up”. Anyone know of anything else I can do? _sigh_ Thanks Quas’ ---

I found out I lost my job 3 days before my vacation. last day of the fiscal year, a friday, I was called at 3:30 p.m. and told that in one hour my position no longer existed. While I’m sorry for your misfortune, and sincerely hope your blister retreats as quickly as it advanced, I was expecting something more from your OP. ---

I hear ya, I was in the sun for waaaay to long on Saturday, and I’ve got one on my skin /under my nose/ and going down to my lip. It’s not actually on my lip. Still looks rather icky though. (More like I have a trail of dried snot running down to my mouth, or like someone punched me.) If you coat, and I mean /coat/ them with a medicine called Denavir, right when they first start, they will not get as big and heal more quickly. It’s good stuff… but expensive. About $35 a tube. And it’s prescription. But it’s the only thing I’ve found that helps me. I’ve been getting them since I was a little kid, and Lysine and all the other OTC meds have never done a bit of good for me. You might want to ask your Dr. about it. ---

Thanks for your advice, y’all, and **Spritle** : That **is** tough and I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope things are better for you now. I’m off to the store for some Lysine. Seeing the doc is outta the question I’m afraid because he’s one of these guys who insists on seeing his patients rather than calling in a 'scrip, and I can’t get an appointment till next week. But I will keep the Denavir in mind. Meanwhile, I will avail myself of a paper grocery sack and cut two holes in it just in case I get lucky! 😃 Quas’ ---

**Quasi** Get a small bottle of camphor from the drugstore. Apply with a cotton ball. I swear, it seems to dry out the blister very quickly. I went to Puerto Rico on vacation once, got very sunburned and woke up with 6 fever-blisters the next day. :eek: The camphor saved me. It’s one of the ingredients in Blistex, I believe. ---

Hey, what about wax lips? I used to love those things when I was a kid, and with retro stuff being so fashionable today, you’d be on the cutting edge!! Granted, it’d make conversation nearly impossible… OK, so it’s not a very practical idea, but having reread your OP, nowhere do I see the word “practical” or even “socially acceptable”, so slap on them wax lips and party on!
