Goddamn Bill, you're not even PRETENDING the pardons weren't about politics!

I appreciate that UncleBill. I’m so tired of people blindly attacking or blindly defending politicians simply because they happen to belong to a particular party.

Clinton’s pardons pale in comparison to either of the Bush Presdents. Yet why don’t we hear about them? Or the Reagan pardons, etc. All I ever hear about is Clinton this, Clinton that. He hasn’t been president for over a year, get over it.

The thing that leapt out at me from what Clinton said was this:

Not “but I didn’t do it for any improper motive” just that there was no evidence that he had. He doesn’t deny the claims, he merely says that no one can prove them. He’s being technically honest, but in the slimiest way possible. He may as well stick his thumbs in his ears, waggle his fingers, stick out his tongue and blow a big raspberry.

Dem or Repub, liberal or conservative, you can’t honestly deny that this was politicking doublespeak at its clearest – and from a man who isn’t running for office and won’t ever run for office again. He has nothing to lose by being honest now, except for his damned all too precious legacy, which he is happy to build on a foundation of “I may have done something wrong, but you can’t prove it so nanny nanny boo boo.”

And that’s a damned pathetic standard.

Its pretty funny when the Clinton defenders holler “get over it”. Its Clinton that will not let it die. WTF? He gave the interview. Unlike other former presidents, both D & R’s, this asshole can’t resist crying to the media. Has he ever turned down an interview request? This fucker is on the record for just about everything, including a bunch of shit about 9-11.

What strikes me the most is that Clinton is so fucking concerned about his “legacy” that he just can’t help himself. If he’d shut up and act like a statesman, the public would probably start to thinks he’s one.

Why is it then that every time I turn into a conservative talk show, they are still always talking about Clinton? Clearly, there are many on that side of the fence that aren’t willing to let go, no matter how much time passes, and regardless of whether he gives an interview or not.

Because of the conservative bias of the media?

You have a point musicguy. Some on the R side can’t let go, as on the D side. What Clinton should do is shut up and get on with his life. Let the dumb asses on both sides duke it out. Its to late to build a legacy.

Who knows what his “legacy” will be 50 years from now. What it shouldn’t be is; Clinton the former president who wouldn’t go away.

I doubt he will go away and live in a cave somewhere in retirement, watching tv. He is only 56, unlike many of his predecessors who were close to elderly at the end of their term.

Just out of curiosity, which do you feel is worse, pardoning some asshole who already took the money and ran, or allowing some Brits to dig $300 Million out of a sacred American Indian site, essentially for free, and with no tax revenue returned to Americans or the Indians being fucked?

Because you still have the opportunity to prevent one of those outrages…
