Canned fruits and fresh fruits aren’t the same thing in my head, since they affect me so differently. I suppose we have a higher grade of canned pineapple at the deli. If the green, orange, etc. candy canes are allowed to breed out of control as people avoid them for their toxic color display, won’t that mean that soon they’ll dominate the gene pool and the red and white candy canes will become rarer and rarer? Really, the best way you can secure the future survival for the red and whites is by eating the odd colored ones. You should also provide a small nature preserve for the red and whites, of course. Their natural habitat is in small pines. ---

I think all candy canes suck so I don’t care what the flavor is I am not eating it. I don’t like any type of hard candy. The BF bought some Livesaver ones this year in a variety of colors and flavors. I don’t care whatsoever, my daughter and him will eat them Now I can get into some ham and pineapple pizza. Thats good stuff! ---

[/quote] I was going to make some comment about eugenics programs but on second thought that’d probably be a not-good idea. But you’re right that the red and white ones are rare. Searching for them is what prompted the thread in the first place. The only ones readily available are the dwarf ones that tend to come in strings of ten or so, half or more of which are always broken. ---

Sinners trump saints nearly every time (depending on the saint - some of them led interesting lives before they were martyred), but unless the specific devil’s food in question is chocolate, it’s a bad, bad thing. Actually, even if it is chocolate. But that’s a whole 'nother thread and argument. ---
