More info about the **Mythology of Anthracite:** Anthracite is the Goddess of Coal and crafts that utilize coal, such as power production, heat, ironworking, and so forth. She is also the Goddess and Protector/Guardian of Lesbians, and the symbolic embodiment of love between women. She is worshipped primarily by Engineers, Mechanics, Lesbians, and women in general. She manifests herself as a beautiful black woman of average height and build, with snow-white hair (OK, think “Storm” from the X-Men Movie). Her followers typically dress stylishly, favoring black Armani. Jet jewelry is worn prominently as a symbol of worship. Her symbolic animal is the Black Leopard, which she is often accompanied by when she chooses to manifest herself. Her Holy plants are hot peppers, which are often burned as offerings to her (on a brazier of coal). Her temples are located in wild, mountainous regions or in pastoral settings (see Maxfield Parrish’s paintings “Daybreak” and “Sunrise” for examples). Her Holy Days are June 1st and November 25th. June 1st is a day for all worshippers of Anthracite to celebrate the coming Summer Heat, which signals the start of widespread usage of Coal to provide electricity for air conditioners. November 25th is known as the Feast of Anthracite, which is a day reserved for female worshippers only. It consists of a day of gathering, elaborate food preparation, a Great Feast which lasts as much as 4 to 6 hours, followed by the “Great Sleep”, wherein the followers gather together on couches and chairs, and doze under warm blankets while entertaining each other with stories, laughter, and old movies on TV. ---

When I am angry, I invoke the power of my son, Diarrheicus, to exact revenge on those who have sinned. When I am furious, I invoke the power of my daughter, Ecolicia, to make the sinners suffer. My wife, Sackrites, is the goddess of the Paper Sack. My creations would have no place to go if not for hers. The only thing I command daily is that a virgin eats 25 of my hamburgers in one sitting, is sacrificed ritually on the Range of the Gods and cooked, to ensure the continuation of the generations of mystery-meats that are irresistable to the mortals. ---
