(crash).” 2. back when i was a hardcore christian, i found it fun to debate semantical aspects of religion with other christians. constantly, the convo devolved to the other person saying “well, God told me. i talk to Him.” i’d hold up my finger for “wait just a second,” mutter to myself, then reply “jesus just said shut up.” anyway, back to the original question–i’m starting to think i’m not going to find a good answer here. womp wah. ---

So, I guess that “prayer” thing doesn’t really work, then? Poor Tebow! Now he has to figure out why God is punishing him! Perhaps a sacrificial lamb? Or…his first-born son? That seems to be a deity fave! ---

'WHERE’S YOUR GOD NOW?!" but seriously, i suspect everyone will say “God has a plan. and winning against the pats just wasn’t part of it.” i think praying believer types are not totally illogical. i really wish some would come give their rationale here. i’m really seeking to understand. i think most will say they don’t know why God didn’t want it–who are we to know the mind of God? but these same people will attribute any victory or improbable positive outcome to Him. they “understand His mind” when it’s a good thing, but ‘can’t know His mind’ when it goes poorly. and another thing–if 43% think God helped Tebow win, do they think God helped Brady win? because the implication seems to be that Brady is skilled enough to win without God–but Tebow needs deistic power-ups. it’s a massive insult to 'Bow’s skillz. 43% believe Tebow isn’t good enough to win on his own… ---

As was pointed out in another thread elsewhere, the kid did make it to the playoffs in his first season as a starting QB. That doesn’t happen often. But Brady and the Pats are odds-on favorites to go all the way. It isn’t surprising they won. But, whatever entity (if there is one) that created the Universe just doesn’t care for American Football. Cricket? Maybe. But not NFL. How do I know? heh heh heh If I told you, I’d have to kill you. Maybe that should be my new catchphrase! ---
