I can’t say why but his original thread about cancer really struck me and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve searched to see if he was still posting or had made any updates. He affected more people than he probably ever realized, even strangers halfway around the world. RIP. ---

I wonder how many of us have plans to notify the Dope, in the event of our deaths. My sister, the executrix of my will, has instructions on how to get in here and let you know what has happened. And a few Dopers know me IRL, so if I disappeared for a long period, they’s know how to find me. Again, **MonkeyBrother,** I am sorry for your loss. ---

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for this loss. I didn’t really have much interaction with your brother until about 2 weeks ago when all of a sudden I had a lot of it. He was instrumental in guiding me through an area of great expertise in his life. I had some questions and he was extremely helpful. He posted several things into the thread that were unintelligible runs of letters and I and other people made light of it. I now feel pretty bad about that because I suspect that he was incapable of controlling what he was doing with his hands at that moment. There’s a lesson in here somewhere. I sent him a private message asking him if he was able to give me some more advice and he never replied. He seemed like a good smart kind fellow and I’m sorry I did not get to know him a little bit better. ---
