# Going on a 3 hour boat tour. What should I pack?

What’s the purpose of the tour? Whale-watching? Water-skiing? Scuba-diving?
Where is it? Ambient conditions?
I’d start w/ sunscreen and sunglasses but maybe you’re touring southern NZ this time of year so those may not be so important.
Oh… i think I’m getting whoosed. I’d carry a satellite phone.

IF this is a serious question, pack a warmer jacket than you think you need. Snacks, water are good. A kite and bubbles are fun.

Really all you need is a wilderness survival scout master who can make anything from raw materials; a do-it-yourself homemaker who can cook, sew and garden; some strong guy to do all the heavy work; and a beautiful whorish wannabe actress-model who’s impressed with your wealth and connections. Everything else is superfluous.
Oh, but if anyone else in your party is a stupid klutz who keeps breaking things, push him off a cliff at the first opportunity.

Bring many trunks full of cleanly pressed clothes. Sometimes these tours run longer than expected.

Sunscreen.
The worst sunburn I ever got was on a river boat cruise in New Orleans. It went through several locks. I stayed on deck to watch and enjoy the scenery.
My arms, face and neck got cooked.
I mistakenly thought the sun’s reflection from the water wouldn’t reach me on a large, multi deck boat.
Sunscreen helps on the island too.

A transistor radio can often be a real plot starter on these trips. Make it a hand crank powered one in case no knowledgeable professors happen to be on the trip.
