I’m jealous. Have a good time, and hug an airplane for me. (I assume it’s the EAA show.) ---

I would, but I’ve got friends/family/friends’ family commitments. Just like _every_ other EAA for the past decade. Grrrr… one of these years I’m _going to go!_ ---

I’ll be at a different gathering of [aircraft](http://www.balloonfestival.com/) this weekend; but the forecast looks like we’ll just be hanging out & grousing about the weather. ☹ ---

Could you swing by California and pick me up on your way? (SF Bay Area, approximately.) Are you participating in the show? Or just going to spectate? I’ve mentioned the [West Coast Ravens](http://www.westcoastravens.com/) a few times over in the General Aviation thread. (Club of RV[sup]\*[/sup] owners/pilots.) I expect they’ll be there _en masse._ (I understand that there’s about 35 of them.) [Here’s a blog (with lotsa pics!)](http://www.bluestmuse.com/2016/08/rv-6-30th-anniversary-formation-and-west-coast-ravens-at-eaa-airventure/) by one of their members from their gig there last year. [sup]\*[/sup](RV being a line of sporty airplane build-them-yourself kits, not “Recreational Vehicle” although they are that too of course.) **ETA: Oh, and when come back, BRING PICS!** Lots and lots of pics!!! ---

I’m here (arrived a couple hours ago, in time to enjoy a couple F-18s dancing around the sliver moon at sunset) – hope you made it, and see you around!
