# Going to the deepest part of the ocean. For longer than 20 minutes.

A bunch of really rich guys are [building a vehicle](http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/02/science/02dive.html?src=dayp) that can dive to the deepest part of the ocean, Challenger Deep, and will be able to spend hours there. The only previous human visit there, in the 1960’s, lasted (you guessed it) only twenty minutes! They’re planning on taking tourists, at $250K a pop; I think it’s only right and good that we send someone of the SDMB there. Who shall we nominate for this honor?  
I’m sorry if someone else already posted on this - I looked but didn’t find any other threads, which shocked me.

I believe this message board should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a Doper at the bottom of the Marianas Trench and returning him safely to his or her mother’s basement.
