Hey, This is kinda corny, but… I’d like all of you Dopers to keep your collective fingers crossed for me and my wife tomorrow. You see, we have a Doctors appointment, with our “Reproductive Specialist.” We’ve had three miscarriages (she’d kill me if she knew I was broadcasting that), and so far this one has gone absolutely perfect! So tomorrow we go in for an ultrasound. If everything is right, we will see a heartbeat (we’ve never been to heartbeat stage before!) and then we’ll be released to our regular Doctor. So, if its not too much trouble, please cross your fingers, say a little prayer, sacrafice a goat, whatever. I don’t know if it will help, but it sure can’t hurt. Then I’ll do the same for you, when it’s your turn… Thanks, Matt (Just kidding about that goat thing, by the way!) ---

How far along is your wife? Usually a heart beat is detectable around the 8th week. I’m sure you know this, ( But I’m gonna tell you anyways) the rate for miscarriages drops dramatically after the first trimester. Any way…good luck, I’m crossing everything I have for the most excellenteous results you can have tomorrow! I have no goat to sacrifice, how about a burnt meatloaf? ---

My mother miscarried twice before me and was told she shouldn’t get pregnant again. She did. She was told she would never be able to carry me to term. She did. So HA! Like LauraRae, I, too, am a third try. And my mother was 42 at the time. Your son or daughter will make a fine Doper down the road. That alone should be an important enough reason to go the whole nine…months 🙂 ---
