Just for fun I showed the pictures of the dogs to one of my most non-PC redneck friends and asked him what he thought (he’s in his 30’s…not exactly young but figured I’d get the most open response from him). _long pause_ _head shake_ ‘That dog just won’t hunt’. (all this with a totally straight face) When asked if the dogs looked ‘gay’ or ‘faggy’ he simply shook his head and said something like ‘Naw. It takes a straight person to fuck up a dawg that badly.’…_another long pause_…‘Probably a libural though…’. One of the funniest conversations I had this week. Just wanted to share. -XT ---

Fair enough. I can see how the OP will find that usage offensive. However, what about the phrase “You suck!” (It sucks, he sucks, etc) that is in common usage everywhere? Should it be banned from the language? ---

First off, no one is talking about banning the use of the word ‘fag’ or ‘faggot’…they are merely pointing out that USING such a term is offensive. Sort of like using the terms ‘nigger’, ‘spic’ or ‘kike’, said terms being pejorative by their very nature. Secondly, how does ‘you suck’ equate exactly to ‘faggoty’ exactly? I’m not seeing the parallel to be honest. -XT ---

Even assuming that the term ‘you suck’ means ‘you suck dick’ (which I concede it probably does…[see](http://www.slangcity.com/ask_ac_archive/you_suck.htm) below), since it’s used fairly indiscriminately between males AND females it doesn’t exactly have the same connotations. It’s NOT a pejorative or bigoted term, it’s an insult.
