This thread is fascinating . I have had a time share in key West for over 20 years. I vacation there. I have tons of gay friends and acquaintances. They would be shocked to hear what a anti gay bigot i am. I am shocked too. But with all the evidence you people think you have, but don’t ,how could I argue? ---

Edwards haircut tells me he is rich. It told Coulter that he is affecting an air that could imply that he actually gay. She clearly meant it as an insult. Did I insult a poodle? nope. did I insult their owners? nope. ---

Or better still, in view of the statements made in this thread, have you ever asked any of them if they find the word “faggy” offensive? Incidentally, it is possible to use offensive language without actually being a bigot. As a personal example, for years I used the word “gypped” to mean “cheated” until I was informed of the origin of the term, which had never occurred to me before then. Of course, that meant making some effort to avoid even the appearance of bigotry, something you are obviously not willing to do. ---

**Gonzo** , you probably don’t know who I am but I’ve noticed you around here and, at best, you’re not the worst we’ve had here. You might be many thing but I would never characterize you as hateful, bigoted or mean-spirited – and no one here is saying that’s what you really are. That is why I’m so surprised (and I assume the OP as well) that you don’t see that the post at issue comes off in exactly those ways. Your obdurancy in the face of almost 100% opposition against other posters participating in this thread has gone beyond drop-dead and marvelous astonishment to actually causing our collective wills to seem effete and our actual wrists to go limp with fatigue from trying to type some sense into your head. ---

I tried for page after page to beat it through your head that no one was saying that…but you would simply chug on, immune to understand or even simple comprehension. Immune from logic, immune from reason, immune from intelligence and immune from simple understanding of what people were trying to tell you. This thread is really a lot like that one…except that eventually people simply started ignoring you, or treating your, um, posts, with the derision and scorn they deserve. You bring nothing to any thread you join…which is why most posters simply ignore you and your posts, even when you are on their ‘side’. In fact, I’d say most 'dopers, finding themselves on your side (as I have from time to time, though you were too clueless to get it) feel a bit uncomfortable having you there…and perhaps have to do some deep thinking about their own position if they agree with you, even peripherally.
