_Presidential Campaigns: From George Washington to George W. Bush_ by Paul F. Boller. You can preview it on Google Books [here](http://books.google.com/books?id=MpCTZQywq0YC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_summary_r&cad=0). (Note: It doesn’t include the 2004 campaign, but we all remember enough about that, right?) I read it a couple months ago and found it pretty interesting.
