IMHO, it’s a perfectly good and useful verb. In general, I have no problems at all with nouns becoming verbs. It is a major boon to the expressiveness of the English language. All that said, the sentence you quote is pretty vague out of context. The word “paradigm” is often used as a non-descriptive weasel-word. ---
