Star Trek: Homefront A series which has NOTHING TO DO WITH STARFLEET! We have the story centered around a civilian family on Earth during the Dominion war…sort of a future Wonder Years. ---

There _isn’t_ going to be a Startrek: Iceland, right? I woke up a couple of days ago fully convinced that I’d read in a tvguide article that that was the next one they were thinking of doing. I almost looked it up on the net before I woke up enough to realize that placing the series in Iceland makes no sense whatsoever. Unless, of course, it’s not the Iceland on Earth, but a rip of that place in Titian A.E. 😃 I’d maybe watch Star Trek: The Next Next Generation. Like StarTrek: 90210 it’d feature a young cast (I’m thinking Jason Behr, Michelle Williams, Sprague Grayden- which is a rather unfortunate name for a girl IMO- , Ryan Reynolds, Adrian Grenier, Jessie Bradford, a couple of other girls, probably, to attract male viewers) just out of the academy and on a ship for the first time who, however, do not focus primarily on their sex lives but are in many ways like the orginal cast of TNG. Betty White and David Duchovny would be the advisors back home they’d clash with; Chris Pratt could play Q’s son, and torture them; they’d have to put up with entertaining White’s annoying grandchildren (Emily VanCamp, Mika Boorem, Ryan Cooley, Mike Weinberg) etc. It could be a digified sort of show compared to most featuring young people. But feature a lot of shirtless guys, training or whatever. ---

I have an idea: Some of the Slave Girls of Orion fight for their freedom and commandeer a ship. The series is about their adventures in space while orion ships pursue them. Warning: Could be highly erotic. I’d Call it Star Trek: Dryads. ---

Section 31 could, i think, work quite well if it were done properly. I’ve always envisioned them as being very much like Special Circumstances from the Iain M Banks Culture novels. ---

Plus any self-respecting extraterrestrial wouldn’t stoop so low as to give birth to a human hybrid mud baby unless they’re one of those kinky gray zeta reticulans who will do anything with a closed circulatory system and an anus. My only suggestion for a good Trek series is to remove Brannon and Braga from writing and production duties and get someone else. Perhaps hire real science fiction writers to do Star Trek seriously rather than “Well, they’re just analogies for oppressed minorities with funky foreheads.” Do the damned story with real people, it’s not the sixties anymore. TV doesn’t have to hide heavy handed morality plays behind the foam rubber prosthesis of science fiction. ---
