Good, moderately priced Champagne/Sparkling wine?

When I got over to my parent’s place I found he had six other bottles of champagne iced, plus three more in reserve. I’ll post later, when I get back there, on what the selection is. I imagine we’ll go through about six bottles tonight, with 10.5 adults.

Oh my! Next year, I’m partying with Shib and his parents.

So far, it’s 11:05 and we’ve had the Pommery, the Bollinger, and we’re on to the Schramsburg. So far, the Bollinger is my favorite - creamy, big, and lovely. Huh. That sound pornographic.

um… all those you list except Korbel call themselves sparkling wine. Even Korbel calls itself “California Champagne.” I think the point Anne Neville was trying to make is that many low-price icky sparkling wines call themselves Champagne, which is incorrect.

Exactly. I love California sparkling wine and Spanish Cava (I went to Beverages and More today to get some Piper Sonoma). But I generally avoid sparkling wine that calls itself Champagne but isn’t.
