I’d always known it as _Emperor of the North_ but apparently, bizarrely, it was first released under the former and then re-released under the latter. Still, yep, a good 'un.

Good catch, **lieu** , because the way it was listed on the TV page I use was without the _Pole_ part. Even though IMDB shows [Emperor of the North Pole (1973)](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070030/) as the “official” title, when you do a title search it lists it as aka the one without the _Pole_ part.

Since the characters refer to the North Pole Emperorship arising from feats on the railroad, I prefer that version.

_Nobody Cares About The Railroad Anymore_ by Harry Nilsson. (Also, _1941_, now that I think about it.)

This place cracks me up. Last week when I left this thread, there were just a couple of posts in it…now it’s back!!

I’ll add Runaway Train by Soul Asylum

I haaaate that song.

But **elbows** totally makes up for it with a song that always reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Benicio DelToro’s character sort of starts to sing that in the middle of a legendary drug binge.
