Good Movies w/ Protagonist Narrating Throughout The Entire Movie?

Raising Arizona.

The theatrical release of Blade Runner.

A Bronx Tale

I just watched it last night - “Molly’s Game”.

Ghost Ship (1943) – Narrated by a mute seaman played by sinister-looking Skelton Knaggs, who specialized in henchmen roles. As witness to the ship’s insane captain, it’s a rare - perhaps even unprecedented - sympathetic part for Mr. Knaggs.

Murder My Sweet (1944)/Farewell My Lovely (1975) – Dick Powell followed by Robert Mitchum voice Phillip Marlowe’s inner thoughts while investigating murder and theft.

Detour (1945) – Loser Al Roberts (Tom Neal) challenges the audience to believe he is a victim of (double) circumstance.

Lady from Shanghai (1948) – Narration from Orson Welles (and his variable Irish accent) helps clarify the convoluted plot.

Badlands (1973) – Sissy Spacek’s soft Texas drawl stands in contrast to her life with serial killer Martin Sheen.

That Obscure Object of Desire (1977) – Fernando Rey tells the story of his obsessive love to some strangers on a train.

One Deadly Summer (1983) – Somewhat unique in that multiple characters take turns narrating the story of Isabelle Adjani (never better), who’s disturbed behavior masks an elaborate revenge plan.

Trainspotting (1996) – Ewan McGregor offers hip Scottish commentary to sordid - and funny - tale of drug addicts.

Blast of Silence (1961) – Not a good movie, imo, but a special case owing to the narration being spoken in the 2nd person. Gravel-voiced Lionel Stander (unbilled owing to his being blacklisted at the time) reads the words that can be taken as a primer on the private thoughts of the hitman protagonist.
