6 out of 7 stories on my [CNN.com](http://CNN.com) feed were videos this morning, which pretty much defeats the point of online news. (the 7th was a picture slideshow). Any other good “Top News Stories” feeds out there where I don’t have to make sure my computer is on mute before I click on a link?

I sure hope so… I have pretty much given up on news websites because everything is a video now. If I wanted to watch the news, I would turn on the TV.

The BBC, NY Times, and Atlantic news feeds are all pretty light on the videos.

The BBC’s United States page is about 1/3 videos, but even most of those have a short description that give you the gist, and they are usually not about the important news stories. Plus you get what seems to be a more objective look on U.S. stories, and access to other important stories around the world.

Granted, I just use them because it’s convenient, being provided with Firefox under the “Latest Headlines” Live Bookmark.
