I’m looking for some good newer (as in the last few years) PC games that aren’t too involved, just something to relax and play. For example: The Sims - 1,2, etc. Plants vs Zombies Diablo 2 - Might be a little old, but still fun to play. GameDev Tycoon But not games like: Battlefield 4 Skyrim So what are the PC gamers thoughts? ---

FTL is really good. And apparently getting a free expansion at some point. I also really enjoyed Defender’s Quest - and apparently there’s a sequel in the works and you get a free copy of the first game if you pre-order. ---

I was not a fan (I much preferred Sims 2) but there is a Sims 3 and soon a Sims 4 or is that what you meant by etc.? ---

Minecraft looks interesting, Will check out the demo. FTL Looks incredible, a couple of reviews suggest that it’s way to random to be playable - (no demo) any truth? Civilation V - Got it love it. Cookie Clicker - love it 47,000,000,000,000,000 cookies on last reset. Defenders quest looks a little too involved for what i’m looking for, but will check out the demo. Don’t Starve looks great, but as with Kerbal Space Program I’m reluctant to buy a game in development. Thanks for all the input keep em coming!! ---

I’m not sure i understand how something like skyrim is more or less involved than D2. FTL is incredible, “too random to be playable” makes absolutely no sense as a complaint. ---

Load of crap. The game is ENTIRELY playable, and entirely winnable. Wait, it’s still in development? I bought it when it was on sale over Halloween and I didn’t even notice. Uh. Other stuff I’ve liked lately: Sword of the Stars: The Pit. Engaging scifi roguelike. Sid Meier’s Pirates! Yeah, fine, it’s not new, but it’s every bit as fun as ever. Race The Sun - I guess it’s an endless runner, but it’s still pretty entertaining for short periods. ---

I think what I mean by “involved” shoud be something more like open world. Skyrim is a good game but WAY too many choices compared to D2. And as far as to random to be playable, I dont know. It was a review I read on gog. ---

Another good dungon crawler is Dungeons of Dredmor, which also has lots of good Steam Workshop content. ---

If you’re thinking Diablo 2 is a newer game, you might want to look into Diablo 3 or Path of Exile. For a game that is only as involved as you let it be, I’m having a lot of fun with Rift. SW:TOR was also fun; they’re both free-to-play, but there seems to be a lot more to Rift than SW:TOR. ---

Assuming you like geeking out with space craft development and exploration type games. It’s probably one of the best games out right now (IMHO) even though it’s still in development. It’s on sale on Steam atm as well, unless that sale is over. I’m currently playing Rome II, Kerbal and the new X-COM DLC.
