Not to be a party-pooper, but do you have a cite–besides [CNN.com](http://CNN.com)’s current lead story–that says we have Taliban leaders in hand or that the regime is gone? I ask because I’m in the newsroom right now and the AP hasn’t come through with anything on this yet and we’ve been watching the CNN coverage pretty closely for a while. It would be kind of embarassing if we missed the story… ---

I’ve heard rumors that some of the Taleban soldiers are trying to shave off their beards. I’m sure there’s some Afghan women who would be happy to apply the razor! ---

I’m thrilled to see them collapse but… As closely related as Taliban and Al-Quaeda are, it was Al-Quaeda that bombed the WTC and we still don’t have any of those guys. They are scabs and need to be picked off. I want Osama bin Laden’s head on a golden platter and nothing less. Oh, with several of his lieutenant’s heads on the side. Hold the fries. mmm… ---

and I will gleefully watch the Taliban go away, but from everything I have read, if you are living in Afghanistan, the Northern Alliance isn’t much better than the Taliban. Instead of beards and burkhas there may be rape and pillage once we (the democratic nations) are gone. I do so hope I am wrong and this can be prevented. ---

Are the women shaving their beards off too? Now I see why they were forced to wear those veils. Just a joke! It’s about time these good people can enjoy life again. Hopefully the new guys in control are not the lesser of two evils.
