Nope - chocolate for **FCM** is all that is needed. Believe me - if you give me chocolate, it will be gone too fast!

Sounds like a [Muscovy Duck](http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/Ducks/Musc/BRKScobies.html). Damn, they’re ugly ducks.

> As my dad would say - “Those ducks have been beat with the ugly stick”. I love my dad’s sayings. “Ask me if I give a sh\*t.” That’s a good one.

My dad used both of those as well. He also occasionally would say “Tickle your ass with a feather?” When the recipient would do a double take he’d say “Particularly nice weather?”

They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. (and when I typed that out, instead of “far” I initially typed “fart” which, if you know me and my family, is ridiculously funny)

_There once was an ugly duckling
With feathers all scruffy and brown
And the other birds,
In so many words
Said, “quack, get out of town”!_

That so sad. I think they’re cute.

- Shibb, who loves all of nature’s critters, even the ugly ducklings, hippos, and swampbears.

**Scout1222** : I tried that once, but I got flustered, so it came out as, “Look at the f&cking clouds!”

Gah! Nekkid people stories I’ve got! But not on the highway. Does next to the street count? Two nekkid people in a park demonstrating how babies get made. And it was morning rush hour! And when the police got there, they didn’t stop their demonstrating. I was mostly upset at being stuck in traffic because nobody, not even me, was worth writing home about. But at least I kept my clothes on. Which is important, knowing when and/or if to doff your duds.

So how big is this hawk, **Rue**? My sister’s pomeranian was taken away by a biiiig hawk. The pomeranian in question was quite small and the hawk just barely cleared the fence, but adios Nina! Everybody said it couldn’t happen, but wamph! squeeet! whooom whooom whoom went it’s wings and Nina became a memory. So maybe you need to make Lucy a lead lined jacket to wear for a while.

Flan is just lougies from after eating a lollipop. What I need is some creme brulee because Mom gave me a torch for valentine’s day. Although I have some peeps just sitting on the desk, giving me peep-eyes. PEEPS! Sorry, I don’t know from making colors.

My sister lived on Kodiak Island for a while. With her two dachsunds. They had to keep a sharp eye out to make sure the eagles didn’t get them. But as big as eagles are, they don’t weigh much (about 10-15 pounds for an American bald eagle), so I don’t know that they could have picked up Sassy who must go at least 25 pounds. She’s one fat little wiener dog. I could see how an eagle could be tempted though… “Look at that little dog there… if I could get her I’d be set for _weeks_.”

I, for one, love flan. I think that there is a flanfest soon in Tampa. Maybe you’ve never had good flan is all. And creme brulee is just flan with a crunchy topping. I love the stuff. My local overpriced coffee place has just stopped having creme brulee flavored coffee on Mondays and I’m devastated!

Oh, I’ve had good flan. It’s still boogery and drooly. And sure creme brulee is kinda the same, but _now I’ve got a torch_!

Maybe your coffee place will tell you how they made the flavor. Or I could lend you my torch and you could just burn some sugar and then stir that in. Have torch, will travel.

> **Taters** , my dear, I thought it was kinda understood that the next time we make the incredably arduous trek to Seattle we wouild just let y’all know. Really. 'Sides, you’ve been down here without coming by. What are we to think of that? huh? :dubious: Another 'sides, it still might happen. But considering I haven’t had a day off since Christmas, well, we’ll see.

Dear-heart, I was just razzin’ you and **Kalley**. If I can’t razz my MMPer’s, who can I razz?

Oh, and it’s been about two years since I’ve been to the lovely state of Ore-GONE and I only got as far as Beaverton. That’s where my dad used to live before he moved up here. My half-sister still lives there, but I can’t seem to get down there. We’re both very busy people. I also have an aunt and cousin who live in the Eugene/Springfield area, but I haven’t seen them in a bazillion years. So, when I WAS going to Oregon, I hadn’t been shown the splendiferous SDMB, much less our wonderful lil’ MMP, so I couldn’t have dropped by to see you 'cause I didn’t even know about you or **Kalley** then.

Whew! I sure am doing lots of ‘splainin’ today.

I just made some yummy eggs Benedict for dinner. I made hollandaise the other day to go with our white asparagus and prosciutto supper, so tonight I used the leftover hollandaise, poached some eggs, over ham on toasted english muffins. Very nice. Breakfast, it’s not just for breakfast anymore!

Yum, I love Eggs Benedict! I don’t care if it is traitor food! I am in awe that Shibb can make Hollandaise sauce.

Zawright! 😃

All kidding aside, the next time we (that’s me and the Missus, I can’t speak for **Kallessa** ) come to Seattle for something that allows us some free time, I’ll let you know, Kay?
And **Swampy** , iffen we can get up there while you’re there we will, but I can’t promise anything. I may not be very bright, but I do know that a brand new business can’t just up and be closed whenever they want to and expect to stay in business.

Whew, this being serious makes my head hurt.

**Ashes[sup]2[/sup]**, I’ve had really good flan, and I have to agree, most restaurant flan isn’t very good. Really good flan isn’t all boogery and drooly, good flan is like a perfect custard with a caramel sauce crust. To my palate, it’s way better than creme brulee, which is just custard with burnt sugar on top.

To all those who are privileged to enjoy four of my girlfriend’s biggie-sized enchiladas, please take note:

But it all comes out in the end, right **Ex**? 😃

**Bumba** I know you got a plate full right now and that Seattle is still a ways from where you are. However, I just can’t turn down an opportunity to heap some guilt. It’s genetic. Besides, if nothing else, I’ll get to squeeze **Taters**. Heck, that’s worth the trip right there.

The FlanFest is in Ybor City this Saturday, from 10 until 4. There was an article about it in the Tribune, with a couple of interesting recipes, but I can find neither online right now. If I find the recipes I’ll plop them here.

“FlanFest” sounds like there might be more flan flying through the air than being eaten.

I actually had nothing against flan until a couple people started describing good flan as “boogery and drooley”. I beg to differ, anything good and tasty can never be described as “boogery and drooley”. Now I am gagging everytime I think of eating flan. ☹

I don’t ever remember flan having the consistence of either of those biological biproducts. Maybe you need to eat in better places, or at least check on the health of the chef before dining?

**scout** , I know where your Dad got the “tickle your ass with a feather” quote. It’s from the movie _Up The Academy_, a kind of cross between _Animal House_ and _Taps_ (and yes, it’s as bad as it sounds). Ralph Machio was in it, but he didn’t say that line.

**Exgineer** , we’re gonna need a cite for that thing about you being unreliable. You can’t put something like that out without 'splaining it.
